PSA: META’s Newest Updates Are Willllld

Okay fam, I just got off my quarterly call with META, and the updates they’ve rolled out are kinda bonkers… think a Kourtney Kardashian pre & post Travis barker 180* kinda flip. Like everything META’s been telling us for YEARS we have to do, are now obsolete.

If you’re using IG for your business, content, or brand, these changes could make or break your reach.

So let’s break it down the two biggest algorithm updates they told me:

🚫 Stop Replying to Every Comment with Short Responses

I know….it sounds crazy. We’ve been told for years that engaging with every comment is the best way to boost reach. Well my dear friends, META has just flipped the script on us all. If you’re dropping short, generic replies (like “🔥” or “Thanks!”), the algorithm might now flag your post as bot-like behavior which could lead to ghosting where your post essentially disappears from feeds.

What to do instead: Be intentional with your responses. Longer, thoughtful replies signal real engagement to the algorithm, which boosts your content’s visibility.

📅 Stick to a Consistent Posting Schedule

If you’ve taken anyyyyyyy of my courses or labs, you know I live by a posting schedule. And now, META is officially rewarding accounts that post at the same time(s) each week. Why? Because consistency signals reliability.

What this means for you:

  • Choose your posting days/times and stick to them. Religiously. They don’t care if it’s two or seven times a week. The point is CONSISTENCY.

  • Avoid random posting. META sees sporadic behavior as less trustworthy.
