Do NOT Miss These MAJOR META Changes...

Do NOT Miss These MAJOR META Changes...

One of the biggest advantages of being in this industry for over two decades is access. And for creators, access to real-time META updates can be the difference between being ahead of the curve and thriving vs playing catch-up and feeling like your head is barely above water.

During my call with META this week, two IG updates stood out as potential game-changers for creators. One gives you a brand new engagement tool, the other could be a privacy concern if you don’t act.

So let’s get to it…

Update #1: Reposting Is Officially Here

Creators have been asking for this for yearssssss, and META finally listened. You can now share someone else’s post to your followers with a single tap. Note that the post won’t show up on YOUR main profile grid, but will live in a new “Reposts” tab.

Why you should care? Well, according to META, “reposting” is about to become the second most valuable engagement tool after shares. This is an opportunity to collaborate, curate, and keep your profile active without needing to constantly create from scratch (oh the relief)! Done right, it can actually double your visibility.

Update #2: Instagram’s New “Map” Feature

IG now has a “Map” feature that can show your exact real-time location. It’s meant to be off by default, but some users have found it turned on without their knowledge.

This could be a huge privacy risk if you’re sharing content in real-time from your home or regular hangouts.

How to turn it off? I gotchu:

Go on your IG →

Settings → “Story, Live, and Location” → “Instagram Map” → toggle OFF.

The good news here is if you’re reading this, you’re already ahead of 99% of creators who will only learn about these changes weeks if not months from now.

So let’s make sure you get the upper hand, shall we?

There are most CRUCIAL things ya gotta use to your advantage with these new updates:

  • Reposting Strategy: I don’t want you to think of it as solely “resharing.” That’s amateur hour. Here’s how to use reposting to grow your audience, boost engagement, and position yourself as a thought leader in your niche without diluting your original content:

    • It introduces your audience to fresh, high-quality content (that’s NOT yours!) they actually want to engage with.

    • It positions you as a curator and authority in your niche. You know, the person who always knows what’s worth watching/reading. This is huge for all my creators out there that tell me they want to be a “leader” in their space.

    • It strengthens relationships with other creators & open doors for potential collaborations. Think about it. If you can add value, why wouldn’t another creator or brand wanna work with you?

    • It keeps your profile active and your content mix dynamic without burning yourself out on constant original creation. And if you know me, you know I strive for your mental health.

  • Trust building strategy: Most creators will ignore the Map feature… until it causes a problem. If you take 5 minutes to safeguard your location now and share that process with your audience, you position yourself as someone who looks out for them all while building deeper trust and loyalty.

  • Early adapter: Point blank, META reward those who adopt new features first. So get on it so that your content can be prioritized!

Got it?

Okay now stay tuned for Part Two!
