The HIDDEN Rules of Luxury Content Creation

When talking to creators aspiring to break into the luxury scene, I always ask them the same question.

“What does luxury mean to you?”

The most common answers revolve around “designer labels”, “flawless aesthetics”, and/or having a shite ton of followers.

I’m here to prove it all wrong.

The real power players in the luxury space know it’s about mastering a very unique paradox. These are the unspoken set of rules that look contradictory, but when understood, unlock the doors everyone else is pushing against. And that shift is MAJOR.

And after a decade guiding some of the top names in the luxury content world, I can tell you that the paradox isn’t a problem. The paradox is the power.

So let’s rewind a bit and actually define what this paradox is…

You’re expected to be aspirational and relatable.
Visible but untouchable.
Consistent yet mysterious.
Polished but human.

AM I RIGHT?!

It’s no wonder most creators feel stuck. They overthink, they overwork, and often… they completellyyyyy miss the damn point.

When I work with creators in my strategy sessions I encourage them to not think about luxury content creation like ticking boxes, but rather by shaping energy, perception, and presence.

And once you understand that, the entire game changes.

So here are the three principles luxury creators LIVE by. These are the exact frameworks I’ve shared with clients like Coco Bassey and Marianna Hewitt:

1. Luxury is a feeling.

For the love of gawd, please understand that is NOT logos. It’s about the VIBEEEEEE. The emotional resonance your audience feels when they interact with you.

THese feelings can include being:

  • Calm and composed

  • Intimate and refined

  • Effortless and elevated

Creators who master this become aspirational without even trying.

So instead of asking, What’s trending? try asking, What emotion do I want to leave my audience with this week?

2. Consistency beats perfection.

Yeah, I know I say this all the time but listen up: The FASTEST way to stall your growth is waiting until everything looks “perfect.”

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve told a client in my strategy sessions: JUST POST THE DAMN POST!

And time after time, it’s the post they doubted that lands them on a PR team’s radar or gets them invited to a brand dinner.

Luxury brands notice consistency. They don’t need flawless. Far from it. They actually need to trust that you’ll show up.

3. Alignment is the new hustle.

Working with “everyone” is so 2017. If you haven’t noticed, luxury is the exact opposite. It’s about being so clear in your story, aesthetic, and values that the right brands want to be in your orbit.

That clarity allows you to pitch with confidence, build real relationships, and create long-term partnerships.
